Ski Resort Madonna di Campiglio

The 'pearl of Dolomites' - Madonna di Campiglio is located in the Valley Rendena between the Dolomites di Brenta and Adamello - Presanella Glaciers.
The pass, with connects  Rendena Valley with Val di Sole is believed to be crossed once by Charlemagne on the pursuit to Rome, the place where he was supposed to sleep overnight is named accordingly - Campo Carlo Magno.

Ski resorts in Valtellina

Unlike many of other Alpine valleys Valtellina stretches along the east-west axis between Rhaetian Alps on the north and Orobian alps on the south.
Its main river Adda flows into the Lake Como located at the end of the valley.

Ski Resorts in Piemonte

The official data from Tourist Promotional Agency states 53 ski resorts in Piemonte ( Piedmont), and although many of them are relatively small ones,
the area around Torino features marvelous slopes suitable for hosting Winter Olympic Games in 2006.
